Call for Prompts
Dec. 1st, 2025 05:22 pmThis whole month I hope to fill with prompted stories, to celebrate my lovely readers and surviving the first quarter of the twenty-first century. It’s been jam-packed with crises and chaos, hasn’t it? Time to take a story break… or thirty.
So, starting today, the official themes are the usual Feathering the Nest comfort, fluff, kindness and slice of life. Those are the stories that make a bad day a bit better, with no heavy demands on the reader’s brain, heart, or soul. For this month, anyone can request at least two stories like that, without limiting them to the usual days for the prompt call. The second theme, is “Wouldn’t it be nice if…?” where the prompter supplies the second half of the sentence. I’ll do my best to answer with a story that the prompter wishes to read. There are two planned slots for each prompter for this theme, too.
Because this event does not suggest sponsorship, I’m stretching my skills in another way: thirty days of prompted stories. If each reader offers four ideas, spaced out over the month or all popping up later today (on 1 December), I’ll probably have a month of stories which have only gone out as reader copies, as well as the month’s posts. I’ll be keeping track, not to discourage ideas, but to guarantee that readers each get at least the four stories that I am promising.
