Sharing my method for saving unpublished posts on Dreamwidth since I haven't seen it mentioned before:

It's basically just creating a community for yourself with all posts set to private (here's how). That'll serve as a repository for posts only visible to you that you can organise with tags exclusive to the community. I also use my private community to store post templates with code and put in a sticky post a bunch of often used emoji along with other symbols to copy and paste when I'm on my PC.

I just keep some of my most-used stuff in a word file to copy-paste.

Copy-paste from a word file or certain online platforms tends to mess up the formatting for me >.< Dreamwidth is great for retaining clean and tidy formatting, especially for chunks of text.

I keep a bunch of private posts on my journal with specific tags like "wip" or "templates" but this private community method sounds a lot more organized, while similar to what I'm doing.

I might give it a try and "unclutter" my journal (nobody sees the clutter, but I know it's there and sometimes the thought bothers me 😝).

oh em gee, i came to this community specifically to find what other peoples solutions to draft posts are (i am a habitual "write a sentence or two and come back later" type of person) and here you are, the answer to my woes!

That's one good solution.

Another is programs like Semagic that are post writers with options for saving, editing, sending, etc.

fictional_fans has more ideas and solutions for storing drafts on Dreamwidth! As some mentioned over there, it's possible to store public posts and drafts set to private on your main Dreamwidth blog, but I've found it easier to locate drafts and templates in a private comm.
