Resources & Recs: Graphic Making

Dreamwidth is a fantastic place to practice making icons, sigtags, banners, moodboards, etc. Below, I've compiled some of my favorite resources for graphics-making, everything from texture packs and palettes to fonts and stock photos.


Comms:
Some DW comms that host fun icon/graphics challenges: dailyicons 100fandomicons characters20in20 tvmovie20in20 iconthat iconcolors lgbtrainbow

Textures & Color Palettes:
icon_resources has a bunch of great texture packs to download
sirius-sdz on deviantart created some beautiful texture packs
nicoledesign79 on deviantart has a wide variety of textures, brushes, and PSDs available
color-palettes on tumblr shared many awesome color palettes
ppppalette is a site where you can create your own palettes

Fonts:
DaFont is my main source for fonts, but make sure to read the terms of use for each font carefully, not all of them are free to use
FontSpace another great source for web fonts
Misti's Fonts a user on FontSpace who made some of my personal favorite fonts

Stock Photos & PNGs:
Unsplash my go-to source of stock photos; both free and paid tiers
Pexels another great stock photo source
The Stock Directory deviantart community with tons of stock photos
Rawpixel PNG source (paid subscription)
noema-13 on deviantart has several awesome PNG packs

Screencaps:
capspiration is a DW comm with screencaps for many shows and movies
Home of the Nutty a massive collection of tv screencaps for a wide variety of shows
kissthemgoodbye movie screencaps gallery

Misc:
silverspace some rainbow icon bases in multiple sizes
Icon Table Generator make a table to display your icons
Pixlr free browser-based photo editor
Photopea another free browser-based editor
Canva graphics editor with tons of moodboard templates
Color-Hex place to look up hex codes for colors
