Cohost Communities on Dreamwidth

Now that Cohost has gone to read-only mode, many Cohost refugees are moving to Dreamwidth. (Introduce yourself and find your Cohost friends.) Several new communities have formed to support them here, gather the culture, and reproduce things they loved from Cohost. Look for Interests and Tags such as "Eggbug" or "Cohost" to search for them. See also Let Your Freak Flag Fly for other communities that may interest Cohost refugees.

So You Want to Create a Community

Don't see what you're looking for yet? It's no surprise. Cohost was a different place than Dreamwidth. That's okay. You can create a community here to focus on your favorite topic(s) and/or people from Cohost.

Do you want to target Cohost refugees in particular? Consider using "eggbug" or "Cohost" in your community's name and/or description. Definitely put both of those in your Interests, and maybe also your Tags. These features help people find each other and their favorite topics on Dreamwidth.

Use this if you cannot find a community with the theme you want, or the only ones you find seem dormant or dead. Creating a community on DW is easy, although maintaining activity is more challenging; successful ones often start with a few friends.
