November Monthly Post

What are your planned projects for blogging in November? What did you accomplish on Dreamwidth during October?

It has been one month since Cohost went read-only on October 1. There are still two months left until Cohost vanishes completely at the end of 2024. So you have that much time to finish archiving your content or transferring it from Cohost to other venues, if you wish to do so. Are you finished reposting? Several folks have, and that post gives you a place to announce it when you do.

Hi Ysabet! I'm back to dreamwidth to try blogging for the month of November; since NaNoWriMo kind of imploded, my spouse and I are looking for other ways to stay writing during this month. For them, it's writing cool small scenes. For me, it's simply trying to hit word counts and use my dreamwidth as a space to degas from the usual social media 'masking' that has had me noping on much of the internet.

Anyways, I hope the Cohost folks who came over here are settling in nicely! Kudos for keeping the door open for so many years. It's really valuable to see you are still cheering people on on Dreamwidth. Thanks!

There's a couple of chill and less chill events popping up around Dreamwidth to write in November, in case the structure helps :) [community profile] mini_wrimo, [community profile] ferunwrimo, [community profile] getyourwordsout's Year-End Marathon come to mind! I hope your return to Dreamwidth is a good one :)

That's super helpful! Thank you! I'll take a look to those as I settle back into a regular writing groove. I've been eyeballing Get Your Word Out for next year's longer haul challenge. I miss that community!

I've been participating for a few years and GYWO works very well with the way my brain works :D Never met my pledge and it doesn't look like it'll happen this year either... but maybe next year? ;D

Also, in a more relaxed manner, I stumbled across [community profile] worderlands which is quite new but has some nice chit-chat going, and there are daily check-in posts going on in November, some with prompts, in case that helps. Good luck getting back into the groove!!! :)

Ah cool, I'll take a look to them as well! Always nice to see some community chit-chat happening around the prompts and focus-down that comes to actually writing.

(And yeah, the groove is being got, one day at a time! Thank you!)

Finished one major blog post about horror movies, now working on another. Also about 4k words into another short story, although I have no clue if I'll be done with either by the end of this month. Fiction comes incredibly slowly to me, and my film theory skills have rusted greatly since my college years.

My foremost planned project for blogging this month is to…well, start blogging. I’m chockful of ideas for stuff that I’ve been meaning to put in this sort of format for a while now, so I’m gonna just try to get to grips with both getting a workflow through HTML and getting an audience on the other side. (Hence why I joined/subscribed here.)

With all of that said, uh…hi all.👋 I wish you lot luck in turn.
